Metinvest completed several overhauls at Azovstal Iron and Steel Works
As reported in the Mariupol press service of the Dutch mining and metallurgical holding Metinvest BV, in the converter shop of the Azovstal combine, the second converter was overhauled. In the course of work, the equipment of the unit was revised and cleaned. The neck of the converter, the caisson of the OKG-400 boiler and the slag collection were replaced. At the end, the converter was re-lined.
In the oxygen shop on the air compressor EK 1500 No. 8, the work of shut-off valves with electric drives was adjusted and the anti-surge protection was set up. We also conducted pressure testing of gas coolers and vibration tests of the compressor electric motor. We checked the protection and alarm. Replacing the heat exchange equipment of the compressor and cleaning the oil coolers improved heat transfer, the unit can again operate in design mode.
After a major overhaul in the division, the air separation unit VRU-60 of station No. 1 was put into operation. Prior to that, the equipment was commissioned - the main units of the installation were checked, the equipment compartment of the unit was warmed up and dried. We carried out high-temperature regeneration of the air adsorbers of the complex purification unit and the direct start-up of the unit, bringing it to the nominal technological parameters.
All planned equipment repairs were completed in full and on time.
