DMK invested 84 million hryvnia in the reconstruction of the rotary kiln gas cleaning system
In the lime production department of the converter shop of the Dnieper Metallurgical Combine (DMK), the aspiration system of the rotary kiln No. 1 is being reconstructed in order to reduce emissions of lime dust into the environment. In parallel, the unit is being overhauled.
The main task of the reconstruction is to replace the worn-out electric filter of the furnace with a bag filter. This part of the work is supervised by specialists from the capital construction department of the DMK.
“The goal of the furnace modernization project is to reduce the concentration of harmful substances in emissions to 50 mg /m³ and, as a result, to reduce the environmental load on the air basin. In the course of modernization, the old corona and collecting filter electrodes will be replaced with a bag filter, and a more powerful smoke exhauster will also be installed, ”said Sergey Nikolaev, head of investment projects and programs of the UKS.
This solution will reduce the content of dust in the gases at the outlet of the gas cleaning plant of the furnace, regardless of the type of fuel used for the production of lime (gas or pulverized coal), since a bag filter, unlike an electrostatic precipitator, allows you to clean gases from unburned ash residue when calcining lime.
Investments in the modernization of the rotary kiln No. 1 amount to 84 million hryvnia, the total cost of overhaul exceeds 100 million hryvnia. It is planned to commission the rotary kiln No. 1 in January 2021.
