Ukraine agreed with the EU to start consultations on the revision of the Association Agreement

Official consultations on the revision of the trade provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union will begin in 2021, reported to the press service of Ukraine >

Relevant agreements were reached during the fifth meeting of the Ukraine-EU Association Committee in the commercial staff via videoconference.

During an intensive two-day work, the parties discussed a set of issues related to the implementation of Section IV "Trade and Trade-Related Issues" of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, including technical barriers to trade, customs issues, sanitary and phytosanitary measures , intellectual property, public procurement, competition, services, trade and sustainable development.

Particular attention was paid to the parties' agreement on further steps to revise the trade provisions of the Association Agreement, assess the readiness of the quality infrastructure to conclude the Agreement on Conformity and Acceptability Assessment of Industrial Products (ACAA), accession to the Convention on the Common Transit Procedure and Facilitation of Formalities in Trade goods, recognition of regionalization measures and zoning of animal diseases, mutual opening of public procurement markets, approximation of Ukrainian legislation with the EU asquis provisions in the field of state aid, Ukraine's integration into the EU's Single Digital Market, further liberalization of capital flows.
