An early warning system about man-made disasters has been launched at the Dnieper Metallurgical Plant

The first system of early warning and detection of threats of emergencies was put into operation at the Dnieper Metallurgical Plant in Kamenskoye. The system was installed in the warehouse of fuels and lubricants of the pre-production workshop.

The advantage of such automated equipment is the continuous monitoring of technological parameters and concentrations of fire and explosive gases and vapors. And in case of detection of a threat - automatic notification of the relevant services of the enterprise using voice and digital transmission of information.

According to Oleg Perel, head of the design and estimate department of Zashchita-Techno LLC, whose specialists installed this system at the DMK, gas analyzers for monitoring the concentrations of combustible gases are located in rooms where flammable liquids are stored. The system also allows you to control the filling level of tanks with flammable liquid and the level of soil and rainwater in the pits near the tanks.

An early warning system will eliminate the human factor in work and, in the event of an emergency, will help rescue teams to respond even more quickly.

- Among industrial enterprises, Kamensky DMK is the first to introduce a modern warning system, which is extremely necessary at high-risk facilities. We have been expecting this project for a long time, and finally we have implemented it. This is a great New Year's gift, for which we are very grateful to the management of the plant. Along with the fire alarm and fire extinguishing systems that we introduced in 2020, the early warning system is the first sign at our plant. In the future, the State Customs Committee plans to install it at a number of other facilities of the enterprise. Now the staff is undergoing training in the management of this system, thanks to which we will be able to effectively monitor the safety situation in the warehouse of fuels and lubricants both in the open area of ​​combustible containers and in closed rooms with fire hazardous substances.
