ArcelorMittal increases prices for rolled metal in Europe for the fifth time in three months

ArcelorMittal's European subsidiary in Luxembourg has once again raised the EU Hot Rolled Coil (HRC) bar, raising prices by € 20 /t to € 750 /t on an ex-factory basis for remaining shipments in the second quarter. p>

The new price increase came just 20 days after the January 8th price increase. As a result of the fifth consecutive price increase since November last year, hot rolled coil prices at ArcelorMittal increased by € 200 /t.

Growth is underpinned by still robust demand from the auto industry in northern Europe and strong prices in southern Europe, amid recent declines in import penetration, which have exacerbated supply shortages across the continent.

ArcelorMittal also increased its offer for hot dipped galvanized sheet (HDG) by € 30 /t to € 880 /t. Cold rolled coil prices remain 10-20 € /t lower than HDG, depending on the region.
