The Kharkiv "Turboatom" was visited by a delegation of Hungarian nuclear scientists

In early March 2021, representatives of the Hungarian nuclear power plant Paks NPP visited the shops of the Ukrainian machine-building enterprise Turboatom.

The delegation got acquainted with the work of the steam turbine, blade, foundry and assembly and test shops and the workshop for mechanical assembly and welding production. The guests of the enterprise also visited the museum of the history of the plant.

After getting acquainted with the production facilities of Turboatom, the parties discussed the current cooperation, as well as the prospects for its development.

Recently, Turboatom has modernized the flow paths of high-pressure cylinders of eight K-220-44 turbines with a nominal capacity of 220 MW at all four units of the Paks NPP. This modernization made it possible to increase the power gain, turnaround time and turbine service life.

Paks NPP is the only operating nuclear power plant in Hungary. The station is located 100 kilometers from Budapest, 5 kilometers from the city of Paks.
