Energomashspetsstal completed half of the work on the manufacture of the reactor vessel shell of the Akkuyu NPP
Energomashspetsstal (EMSS, Kramatorsk, Donetsk region) continues the production of a large-size reactor vessel shell for the third block of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant (NPP) under construction in Turkey. An ingot weighing 415 tons, intended for the manufacture of this shell, was cast in the electric arc furnace shop of PJSC" EMSS "on March 2, 2021.
At the moment, the work is approaching the equator. The ingot is currently being forged at a 15,000 ton-force automated forging complex. Further - mechanical processing of the product and quality control. It is planned to complete the manufacture of the shell of the reactor vessel in the third quarter of 2021. The net weight of the product after the end of the machining process will be 119.55 tons, diameter - 4.6 meters, height - 5.3 meters.
According to the signed contract, for the reactor pressure vessel of the 3rd unit of the Akkuyu NPP, the specialists of PJSC EMSS had to manufacture and ship 10 parts to the customer. To date, 9 out of 10 RPV parts are ready and shipped to the customer. Now the production of PJSC "EMSS" is the last, the largest billet - the core shell of the VVER-1200 reactor vessel.
