Metallurgical production of Donetsk region increased in January-April by 35%
Industrial production of Donetsk region (excluding part of the temporarily occupied territory) in January-April 2021 compared to January-April of the previous year increased by 5.7%. In April, production was 5.4% more than in March 2021 and 20.8% more than in April 2020.
Such a significant increase in production in April compared to the same month in 2020 is associated with a low comparison base, because a year ago there was a significant decline due to a decrease in both domestic and foreign demand due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The volume of production in the production of chemicals and chemical products increased in April 2021 compared to April of the previous year by 21.7%, metallurgical production and the production of finished metal products - by 34.3%, the production of rubber and plastic products, and other non-metallic mineral products - by 34.9%, mining and quarrying - by 48.2%. At the same time, due to the lack of orders, the output of mechanical engineering products decreased by 25.1% compared to April 2020, and in the production of food products, beverages and tobacco products due to the lack of agricultural raw materials (in particular, sunflower seeds), the decline was 48.1 %.
In April, compared to March 2021, the volume of production increased in the production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products by 1.0%, the production of coke and petroleum products - by 4.3%, metallurgical production and the production of finished metal products - by 5.0%, production of chemicals and chemical products - by 6.2%, mining and quarrying - by 29.5%. At the same time, in mechanical engineering, output in April was less than in the previous month, by 15.4%, production, supply and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 21.6%, food, beverage and tobacco products - by 41.4%.
In January-April 2021, compared to the same period of the previous year, the volume of production increased in the production, supply and distribution of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air by 6.7%, in the production of chemicals and chemical products - by 7.3 %, metallurgical production and production of finished metal products - by 7.7%, production of rubber and plastic products, other non-metallic mineral products - by 12.7%, mining and quarrying - by 16.5%.
Since the beginning of 2021, compared to January-April 2020, the output of products in the production of coke and refined products has decreased by 7.4%, in the production of food products, beverages and tobacco products - by 13.9%, in mechanical engineering - by 20, 7%, textiles, clothing, leather, leather goods and other materials - by 36.1%.
The production of raw coal in January-April 2021 compared to January-April of the previous year increased by 10.5% and amounted to 4.0 million tons. The volume of hard coal, including shipped raw coal and beneficiation products, amounted to 3.7 million tons, which is 17.1% more than in January-April 2020.
Electricity production in January-April 2021 amounted to 3.8 billion kWh, which is 9.1% more than in January-April 2020.
