Environmentalists promised to strengthen control over emissions of metallurgical plants in Mariupol
Mariupol municipality purchased new equipment for effective emission control. Today it was transferred to the State Ecological Inspectorate in Donetsk region.
“This is the most modern equipment that exists on the country's market. With the help of two gas analyzers, we will be able to measure gaseous products at stationary objects. We will get the result immediately. The spectrophotometer will allow to determine the concentration of pollutants in waters, soils, surface waters, including the Sea of Azov, ”said Lyubov Galushko, head of the Department of the State Environmental Inspection in Donetsk region.
She added that until recently, the inspection had to use outdated equipment. Therefore, the new technique is relevant and necessary. According to the deputy mayor of Mariupol Sergei Zakharov, the municipality helped to purchase modern equipment because it understands the importance of the environmental issue in the city.
“The issue of ecology is one of the key issues in the city. New technical equipment of European quality will make it possible to control emissions and obtain real data on the environmental situation, "he said.
