Zaporozhtransformator has developed new transformers specially for Ukrenergo
Three new autotransformers and nine new transverse control transformers manufactured by ZAO Zaporozhtransformator were delivered to the 750 kV Zaporozhskaya substation.
As noted in the press service of Ukrenergo, the new equipment has significantly better energy efficiency and is designed specifically for Ukrainian substations. In particular, in new transformers, no-load losses are almost a quarter lower, short-circuit losses on the low-voltage side are 70% lower, and on the medium-voltage side - by 24%.
"This will reduce the consumption of electricity during transmission and, accordingly, reduce the volume of their purchase on the electricity market to compensate for these costs," Ukrenergo noted.
Substation 750 kV "Zaporizhzhya" provides the transit of electricity by main grids from the Zaporozhye NPP to the nodal substations of the Ukrainian power system with a voltage of 750 kV "Dneprovskaya" and "Donbasskaya", as well as to 330 kV substations in the east and south of Ukraine.
New autotransformers will be additional to the substation and will increase its capacity by 999 MVA (up to 2997 MVA). Transverse control transformers, which were not at the facility before, will optimize power flows in the 330-750 kV network in order to minimize its losses and ensure acceptable operating modes of the transmission system.
The new transformers are also equipped with a modern control and diagnostics system, compatible for connection to an automated process control system (APCS), which will be equipped with the 750 kV Zaporozhskaya substation during the reconstruction. This will allow you to receive data on the state of the autotransformer online from the center, and thanks to the automated process control system - to control the substation equipment remotely.
The process of manufacturing and testing of new transformer equipment was observed by specialists from NEC Ukrenergo, as well as representatives of FICHTNER, an international consultant from the creditor bank.
The installation of transformer equipment will be carried out as part of the comprehensive reconstruction of the 750 kV Zaporizhzhya Substation, which is part of the Reconstruction of Substations in the Eastern Part of Ukraine project, which is being implemented for credit funds from the German Credit Institution for Reconstruction (KfW).
