Ukrainian Association of Ferroalloy Producers warns of "critical consequences" of tariff hikes
The Ukrainian Association of Producers of Ferroalloys and Other Electrometallurgical Products (UkrFA), representing the interests of the industry's enterprises, stated that an increase in the tariff for electricity transmission by 56% is unacceptable and will lead to critical consequences in the metallurgical industry associated with an increase in costs and loss of competitiveness.
"The arguments of the growth of expenses in the structure of projects given in the information sheets of Ukrenergo only state the fact of an increase in expenses, not relying on either the consumer price index or the dynamics of actual expenses achieved in previous periods," the association noted.
Therefore, UkrFA supported the position of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine in terms of comments and suggestions to the draft tariffs of NEC Ukrenergo, noting that in addition to the draft tariff structure for electricity transmission services, the website also published a draft tariff for dispatching (operational and technological) ) control, the size of which will increase by 60%.
"We believe that every decision on electricity that is made at the state level should be considered comprehensively, and during the global crisis caused by the pandemic, it is the impact on consumers that should be the main factor," the association concluded. >
