Gate valves are chosen for simplicity, versatility, durability and reliability. In order for the product to serve for a long time, without breakdowns and failures, it is necessary to ensure the correct installation of cast iron valves, since installation errors in the future can become a weak point in the system, cause leaks, breaks, or simply reduce the life of the part.
Installation procedure for cast iron gate valves:
1. Check the performance of the part - it is necessary to manually open and close the armature, making sure that the wedge reliably closes and opens the clearance of the part, moving from the lowest to the highest position.
2. Check the markings on the part and pipes to make sure that the correct shut-off valve is selected - the markings must match.
3. Transfer the product to a partially open position, remove the protective caps, check that there is no dirt or foreign objects inside.
4. If the part has a diameter of more than 100 mm, it is necessary to prepare a support for it.
5. Attach the valve to the appropriate flanges with bolts. At first, the fasteners do not need to be tightened strongly - it is necessary to adjust the position of the product, and only then tighten the bolts to the stop.
6. After starting the flow of the medium, check the operation of the fittings, tightness, absence of leaks, etc. If the installation is correct and the valve is in good condition, the test should pass. After that, the system is ready for operation.
If, after installing the cast-iron valve, any shortcomings are revealed, for example, distortions, it is forbidden to try to eliminate them by tightening the fixing bolts - it is necessary to dismantle the part, fix the problem, and only then mount it again.
