PJSC Severstal supported the Resource Center for the Creative Development of Children and Adolescents of the Cherepovets Museum Association in the launch of the educational and exhibition project "Journey to the World of Science and Art", in which the classes "Mathematics and Fine Arts" have already begun. The project was launched in 2018 within the framework of the Agreement on interaction between the Mayor's Office of Cherepovets and the State Russian Museum.
The project is aimed at the creative development of children and adolescents through the interpenetration of mathematics and visual arts.
Students in grades 5-6 of the school plunged into the world of artistic images and mathematical calculations with the help of the didactic exhibition "Mathematics and Fine Arts" and genuine works of icon painting and painting from the collection of the museum association, which clearly show geometric concepts: reverse, linear and spherical perspectives, axial and central symmetry, parallel transfer. Students themselves found the Golden Section on reproductions of paintings by famous artists.
As part of the opening of the project in March, a seminar was already held for almost 70 teachers of secondary schools and the system of additional education, museum workers in Cherepovets. Invited specialists from the Center for Museum Pedagogy of the Art of the State Russian Museum from St. Petersburg spoke about how museum workers can talk about objects of art in the language of mathematics and geometry in an accessible and entertaining form for children.
