A reloading terminal has been included in the information system for managing maintenance and repairs of the Murmansk transport branch of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. The work was carried out by NPP SpetsTek.
The Murmansk Transport Branch of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel has its own ice-class fleet and a transshipment terminal. The fleet provides regular communication between the ports of Dudinka, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk, and exports products of the Polar Division of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel. The terminal in the port of Murmansk carries out transshipment of products and their further transportation by its own railway transport for processing at Kola MMC, or transshipment to ships of other carriers for export to European ports. In the opposite direction, the terminal and the fleet are used for transshipment and transportation from Murmansk to Dudinka of goods to supply the Norilsk industrial region.
The uninterrupted functioning of the entire transport and logistics complex of the branch depends on the technical readiness of its elements, which means - on the timeliness, completeness and quality of maintenance and repair (MRO), including reliable provision of MRO with material and technical resources.
In this regard, in October 2013, the ITF of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel launched a project for the implementation of an information management system for maintenance and repair (MRO). The TRIM software was adopted as the basis of the system, and the project was executed by the SPE "SpetsTek" company.
The ISU MRO has been operating in the shipping divisions since November 2014. At that time, 50 users were registered in it. The ship part of the system is installed on five container ships, one tanker and one icebreaker. The onshore section included the Department of Technical Operation of the Fleet, the Department of Spare Parts and Supply of the Fleet, the Department of Safety of Navigation, the central warehouse of the MTF.
Convinced of the efficiency of the system, the management of the MTF PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel made a decision to scale the MRO to a transshipment terminal. The works, which began in October 2017, have now been completed.
The scaling of the system made it possible to include the technical management of the transshipment terminal, the railway transportation department and the logistics department into a single information space for maintenance and repair. The system has 18 new users. The database includes the equipment of the mechanization department - more than 50 units, including portal and gantry cranes, forklifts, terminal tractors, communal machines and cars, as well as equipment of the chief power engineer department, in which the information system covered electrical networks, heating networks, water supply, sewerage, etc.
An important and complex part of the project was the integration of the MRO with three adjacent systems interacting with each other - an information analytical system for corporate accounting of the movement of funds, an automated system for managing reference information, and an accounting system. Thanks to integration, users of all systems also work in a single information space, eliminating the need to re-enter data, increasing the efficiency and reliability of data in terms of MRO in these systems.
Thanks to scaling to the transshipment terminal, the MRO has the opportunity to plan and analyze the effectiveness of the technical operation of facilities and departments throughout the branch. The system serves as a tool for optimizing the costs of material and technical resources, implements the workflow for the processes of maintenance and repair, supply and management of warehouse stocks.
