The Akzhal enrichment plant (NOVA-Zinc LLP, a subsidiary of the Chelyabinsk zinc plant, an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex) began the second half of 2020 with impressive results. In July, the mill processed a record 161,239 tonnes of ore, the best figure since the start of production. The previous record was set in September 2019 and amounted to 153 747 tons.The employees of Nova Zinc LLP managed to achieve high results thanks to the implementation of a number of tools of the UMMC Business System, such as visualization of operational information, control of the mill loads at short intervals and after the operating mode of flotation. In addition, a number of improvements were made to the mechanical and technological services in terms of planning and control.
“Since the end of 2019, a program of operational transformation of the enterprise has been launched, during the implementation of which it was possible to achieve positive dynamics in all production indicators: mining and processing of ore and the release of finished products, - said the general director of NOVA-Zinc LLP Suindyk Asan. “Employees of the enterprise have done a large-scale job of identifying and clearing bottlenecks, developed regime maps, which made it possible to increase the workload and set a new record.”
