At Ural Steel (part of the Metalloinvest company), as part of the technical re-equipment program, the railway transport department's repair shop was replenished with a car repair machine. Metalloinvest spent 18 million rubles for its purchase.
The new universal equipment is intended for the repair of cars at service points and allows them to be lifted, doors, end and side panels, side vertical posts, replaced , welding and tightening of individual elements.
The machine mechanisms are controlled from the control panels. With its help, it is possible to repair up to 35 cars per day, as well as to repair bogies and change automatic couplings. The equipment can work stably in conditions from minus to plus 40 degrees.
“The purchase of a car repair machine will allow us to quickly and efficiently repair our own cars, which will reduce the time they spend in a non-working fleet,” said Svetlana Dianova, Transport Director of Ural Steel. “In addition, we will be able to repair the wagons owned by the operating companies, which received damage to the body during loading. All this will noticeably simplify and speed up the process of cargo transportation ”.
Ural Steel is one of the largest shippers in the eastern Orenburg region with a consistently high volume of cargo shipment by rail. The plant annually ships and Russian Railways transports about 4 million tons of cargo across the Russian Federation, to the CIS countries and far abroad.
