MMK shipped a record volume of long products

The previous record figure - 172 thousand tonnes of long products shipped - was reached at MMK in July 2015. At present, the section rolling facilities of the enterprise are working at full capacity. Last year, the company produced about 1.8 million tonnes of long products, with 98% of all sales going to the Russian market and the CIS countries. With a focus on increasing profits, MMK is systematically reducing the share of ordinary products and increasing the share of more marginal long products, which already account for about 30% of sales.

In 2005-2006, three modern, fully automated mills were put into operation at the mill's long range the Italian company Danieli with a total capacity of over 2 million tonnes of long products per year, which made it possible to decommission 4 old long section mills. These mills were the first to be built on the territory of the former USSR in the post-Soviet era, and are among the most modern in the world in terms of equipment. In total, since the launch of the new units, they have produced over 20 million tons of long products.
