Gaysky GOK introduced a computer program for the safe operation of an underground mine

Gai (Orenburg Region)

At the underground mine of PJSC Gaysky GOK (an enterprise of the UMMC raw materials complex), a new software product is being introduced - AeroSet. This is an analytical complex designed for the design of ventilation systems in mines. The computer program was developed in the laboratory of aerology and thermophysics of the State Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences together with specialists from scientific, design and mining enterprises.

- In order to introduce AeroSet, serious work was done during the year. We have created the topology of the underground mine of the plant, that is, we have received its actual picture, which exists at the moment, in a mathematical model. This is a very laborious work, considering that there are more than 10 thousand underground workings. And we need to constantly maintain this picture, replenish it with new calculations and data. The program allows you to do this simply and quickly, - said Andrey Popov, head of the dust ventilation service (PVS) of the underground mine of the Gaysky GOK.

Previously, the calculation of the required ventilation at the underground mine was carried out manually. The specialists went down to the horizon, measured air flow rates, calculated the required volume, and then made adjustments to the ventilation system. Now, on a computer model, you can see each point of the horizon online, determine the required amount of air and change the parameters.

With the help of a new computer program, the Gaysky GOK has already prepared an improved plan of measures to localize and eliminate the consequences of an accident at an underground mine ... It presents accurate calculations for ventilation and overturning of an air jet in case of fires in inclined and vertical workings.

- In the work on the implementation of the AeroSet computer program aimed at strengthening the safety of our mines from emergencies, we were guided by relevant federal programs and regulations. Today we can say that all mining enterprises of UMMC have made a decision on the need to introduce this product. With the help of the developed analytical complex, plans for the development of mining operations will also be drawn up, - said Vadim Minin, head of the mine atmosphere control department of the mining enterprises development department of the UMMC mining directorate.
