MMK again took first place in the rating of Russian producers of flat products

The leading position in this segment is due to the presence of modern rolling complexes at MMK, which were commissioned in the last decade. Among them, one can distinguish a complex for the production of heavy-plate steel (mill 5000) and the latest cold-rolling complex (mill 2000) for the production of high-quality auto-sheet and cold-rolled galvanized steel for the construction industry and manufacturers of household appliances.

In particular, at present the plant is a leading supplier of ferrous metal products for car factories and related enterprises producing auto components. The company supplies cold-rolled and hot-dip galvanized steel to all major Russian enterprises in the industry, as well as to foreign auto concerns that localize their capacities in Russia. In 2018, shipments of metal products from the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works to the automotive industry amounted to almost 550 thousand tons, which was a record figure for the company.

MMK also holds first place in the Metal Supply and Sales section of the rating dedicated to manufacturers of galvanized and painted metal. Magnitka's capacities for the production of galvanized steel exceed 2 million tons per year. With the entry into the MMK Group of the Lysva Metallurgical Plant in 2017, the company became the largest manufacturer of galvanized and coated steel in Russia. The assortment line of these types of products has also significantly expanded. The development of coated rolled metal production is in line with MMK's strategic course towards increasing the output of high-margin products.

In addition, two more companies of the MMK Group were noted in the rating for the first half of 2019. The MMK-METIZ Magnitogorsk Hardware and Calibration Plant entered the top three manufacturers of hardware products, and MMK Trading House took second place in the list of the best trading houses of metallurgical plants. compiled on the basis of questionnaires received from buyers of metal products, the results of a survey of metal market experts, as well as a comprehensive analysis of companies' activities. When determining the winners, the dynamics of business development, volumes of supplies, the level of service, quality of products, reliability of suppliers in terms of fulfilling contractual obligations and openness in providing information were taken into account.
