An audit was carried out at SHAAZ as part of the certification of a new diesel locomotive TEM2N-UMMC
Experts of the Federal Railway Certification Register conducted an audit of the production site at the Shadrinsk Automobile Aggregate Plant JSC. This is one of the necessary steps towards certification of the diesel locomotives produced. Previously, upgraded diesel locomotives of the TEM2-UGMK, TGM4B-UGMK and TGM6-UGMK series have already received certificates of compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union (TR CU 001/2011 "On the safety of railway rolling stock"). The first new diesel locomotive TEM2N-UMMC is next in turn.
During the audit, the experts got acquainted with the documentation in detail, checked how the standards are being implemented in practice, assessed the production process at all parts of the SHAAZ diesel locomotive modernization workshop. The result of the check was the final act, in which the auditors confirmed the compliance of the manufacturing process of the TEM2N-UMMC diesel locomotive with the requirements of the Regulations.
- Work on the TEM2N-UMMC is in the final stage. The complex of tests was carried out in full, the protocols are ready. I think that a certificate of conformity for this locomotive will be issued in the near future, and we will be able to launch a similar procedure for the TGM4N-UGMK series locomotive, - said Vadim Kharshidi, head of the certification department of traction and rolling stock of the Federal Railway Certification Register.
Experts note that today the Shadrinsky Automotive Aggregate Plant is the first and only enterprise in Russia that has gone through a full cycle from preparation of production to obtaining a certificate for such a type of service as the modernization of diesel locomotives with an extension of service life. And with the start of production of new, not modernized, diesel locomotives, SHAAZ JSC has become a serious player in the domestic market of shunting locomotive manufacturers.
- Production at SHAAZ is small, but it is developing rather quickly, and in some moments it already surpasses bigger competitors, - said Vadim Harshidi. - The plant began with the modernization of locomotives, then mastered the production of new machines, in the future, the expansion of the range of parts of its own production. There is an understanding of what consumers expect from the enterprise and due to what characteristics Shaaz diesel locomotives can compete in the market. First of all, we are talking about reliability, proven efficiency of operation, comfortable working conditions for locomotive crews and service departments.
Recall that the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union entered into force in 2017. According to the document, the owner of the rolling stock can extend its service life only after modernization.
SHAAZ JSC started modernization and production of shunting locomotives in 2014. To date, the enterprise has produced 56 modernized locomotives of the TEM2-UGMK, TGM4B-UGMK, TGM6-UGMK series, as well as 14 new diesel locomotives of the TEM2N-UGMK, TGM4N-UGMK and TGM6N-UGMK series.
