Executive MBA students visit ESAB Competence Center
ESAB held a pilot event with Executive MBA students in Russia. The event was attended by ten representatives of the MGIMO School of Business and International Competencies.
Senior executives completed safety training (EHS) and tried themselves as a welder under the guidance of specialists from the technology center. The participants of the event got acquainted with the main welding technologies offered by ESAB - from fully manual welding to robotic.
“This is a very valuable experience for Executive MBA students. Working at the ESAB Technology Center, they not only felt a creative and competitive spirit, but also demonstrated character traits that allow them to finish the job, ”said Anna Shashkova, professor and scientific director of the Executive MBA program at the MGIMO School of Business and International Competencies.
One group of participants was given the opportunity to try themselves in different types of welding: manual electric arc (MMA), semi-automatic (MIG) and argon arc (TIG), the other - in plasma cutting.
“The key to success in any industry is highly qualified specialists. We pay special attention to this, because ESAB became the first company that decided to build cooperation with MBA. I myself went through an international business school and I understand the need of Executive MBA students in a diversified education. One day in welding is both an unforgettable experience and an opportunity for a manager to look at the business from the point of view of a simple worker, to do something with his own hands. In addition, this is a promising area for understanding the brand, increasing awareness and loyalty to it, ”stressed Alexey Nuzhny, CEO and CFO of ESAB Russia and the CIS.
