History of machine building

At the beginning of the 19th century, the English engineer Henry Maudsley standardized the process of making threads and produced sets of taps and dies. Thanks to him, mechanical engineering arose. Maudsley machines entered the history of technology as the very first machines made using other machines. The manufacture of threaded pairs of certain parameters contributed to the emergence of valves and gate valves, in which spindles were used in combination with running nuts.
