TMK took part in the Russian Steel congress dedicated to labor protection, industrial safety and ecology

The delegation of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) took part in the 2nd Congress of the Association of Ferrous Metallurgy Enterprises "Russian Steel", which was held in Stary Oskol. It included the technical director of the company Boris Pyankov, the deputy technical director for monitoring the occupational health and safety system Anatoly Soloviev and the chief specialist of the chief ecologist department Elena Podgornykh.

The congress was devoted to the issues of labor protection, industrial safety and ecology ... During his speech at one of the sessions of the forum, Boris Pyankov spoke, in particular, about the company's best practices in limiting industrial impact on the environment. Thus, he noted that from 2006 to 2018, at the Russian plants of TMK, during a large-scale reconstruction of the steelmaking and pipe rolling production, modern technological equipment with a low level of environmental impact was introduced. As a result of the modernization, it was possible to achieve a significant reduction in emissions into the air, water consumption, and energy consumption. The volume of waste generation has decreased by 40%, the amount of wastewater discharged has decreased by 2 times.

Boris Pyankov also touched upon the topic of holding the Steel Safety Day at TMK, in which the company has been participating since 2015. The action is held annually at the initiative of the World Steel Association and is timed to coincide with the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28. As part of the Safety Day events, TMK employees assess safety risks at their workplaces and provide suggestions on how to reduce or eliminate them. According to Pyankov, over the years of participation in this campaign, the company has significantly reduced the level of injuries and the number of accidents at work, which allows TMK to systematically move towards achieving the main goal - zero injuries at enterprises.

“TMK deservedly possesses reputation as one of the leading companies in the global pipe business, distinguished by a modern, positive and responsible approach to increasing production and financial performance indicators. At the same time, the company is actively investing in human capital, safety of production processes, environmental protection and the development of social programs, "concluded Boris Pyankov.

2nd Congress of the Association of Ferrous Metallurgy Enterprises" Russian Steel "" Labor protection, industrial and environmental safety at mining and metallurgical events "was held from September 10 to 11, 2019 with the participation of the World Steel Association.
