Sibkabel modernized equipment for the production of oil submersible cables

At the Sibkabel plant (part of the Cable Alliance Holding, which unites the cable assets of UMMC), equipment for the production of oil submersible cables was modernized. The new extruder, installed on the extrusion line in Shop No. 3, will effectively process fluorinated polymeric materials from which the insulation of cable products for the oil industry is made. The cost of the unit is about 5 million rubles.

“The existing extruder installed on this extrusion line is designed for processing PVC and polyethylene. The new extruder will make it possible to process fluorinated polymers, evenly distributing their melt at a temperature of 400 degrees. At the output, we will receive high-quality insulation resistant to high temperatures and aggressive well fluid ", - explained the head of workshop No. 3 Sergey Kovalenko.

After the modernization of the extrusion line, the amount of equipment for applying fluoroplastic insulation to the core in workshop No. 3 has doubled. Accordingly, the production volumes of cables with fluoroplastic insulation for oil electric pumps will also grow in the near future.

“Thanks to the new extruder, we are able to work simultaneously on two extrusion lines with an average conductor insulation speed of 15-17 meters per minute. This will allow us to shorten the lead time and increase production volumes, "- explained Denis Patlin, head of the cable bureau for submersible electric pump installations.

It should be noted that the production of high-quality cables for the smooth operation of oil and gas infrastructure is one of the most important tasks of JSC "Sibkabel". The monthly output of these products exceeds 1000 km.
