Carrying out work on the modernization of mechanical scales

Projects carried out in the winter period are particularly complex, both from a technological point of view and time constraints. After all, at any moment a snowfall can begin and there will be no opportunity to continue work, which will pull the overall duration of the project. Therefore, in order not to let the client down, our company is still at the stage of submitting a commercial offer, trying to give real terms, in which possible interruption of work has already been invested, for reasons beyond our control.

Recently, a project was carried out to modernize the old mechanical scales, which no longer met the needs of the enterprise, after the autumn harvest, this became obvious. In the process of weighing on the old scales, significant deviations in the weighing readings were revealed, and separate weighing of the main machine and the trailer was also carried out. At the height of the season, this led to a local logistical collapse at the enterprise, which resulted in losses for the enterprise.

The management of the enterprise decided to send requests for the supply of new electronic truck scales. Having received such a request, our specialists held several telephone conversations, which resulted in the understanding that it would be better for this enterprise to modernize the old scales. Having put forward such a proposal and summed up the economic justification for it, the customer received consent and signed the necessary documents.

The modernization project provided for an increase in the maximum weight limit from 30 to 80 tons and an increase in the loading platform from 12 to 18 meters. As a result of modernization, the customer should receive 80 tons 18 meter truck scales. Within the established timeframe, our company carried out dismantling work, which included the removal of the entire mechanical part of the old scales, as well as the dismantling of the capital canopy.

Upon completion of the dismantling, construction and installation works were carried out, which included:

Ground work to lengthen the foundation;

Strengthening and lengthening the existing foundation;

Laying of signal cables;

Installation of strain gauges;

Assembly and installation of the loading platform;

Bringing the weight terminal to the weigher's room;

Carrying out work on fine tuning the weight.

The final stage of the project was the submission of these scales to the primary state verification, which they successfully passed and received the appropriate mark.
