Severstal increased sales to Russian customers in the fuel and energy industry by 37%
PAO Severstal, one of the world's largest vertically integrated steel and mining companies, has supplied Russian customers from the fuel and energy industry in the first nine months of this year with more than 740 thousand tons of metal products, which is 37% more than in the same period last year.
Severstal has increased sales of both finished products and rolled metal, which is used in the production of products for the fuel and energy industry. The company supplies rolled metal to manufacturers of large diameter pipes, pipeline fittings, pipeline fittings, welded oil country tubular goods (OCTG), oil and gas pipelines, tanks and oil and gas equipment.
Steel supplies to manufacturers of small and medium diameter pipes increased by 72%. up to 204 thousand tons, and sales to companies that produce large-diameter pipes, by 31%, to 213 thousand tons.
For the first nine months of 2019, Izhora Pipe Plant sold about 290 thousand tons on the domestic market pipes of large diameter, which is 13% more than in the same period last year. The company's products were used for the development of gas transmission capacities of the unified gas supply system in the North-West region, as well as for the construction of the Kovykta-Chayanda section of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline.
Supplies to the customers of the fuel and energy industry also increased due to new directions of the company's work .
SMTs-Kolpino (service metal center of Severstal in Kolpino) has supplied 9 thousand tons of steel parts for the plant for the production of wind turbine towers - VRS Towers since the beginning of the year. This is a joint venture of Severstal, RUSNANO Management Company and Widar Reovables S.L., located in the Rostov Region. The plant became the first of its kind localized in Russia.
During this period, sales to customers of the fuel and energy complex through Severstal Distribution (the distribution network of the Severstal Russian Steel division) were actively developing, amounting to about 25.5 thousand. tons.
