TMK museum complexes hosted thousands of guests as part of the "Night of Museums" campaign
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) took part in the All-Russian action "Night of Museums", which was held at two museum sites of the company: in the museum complex (MK) "Severskaya Blast furnace" on the territory of the Seversk Pipe Plant (STZ) and in the Museum and Exhibition Center Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ).
MK Severskaya Blast Furnace held a series of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 165th anniversary of the Seversk Blast Furnace. There were several locations on the territory of the complex, united by the theme "Metal Memory", using both material exhibits and digital technologies. A theatrical production dedicated to the heroic work of previous generations of metallurgists was shown in the foundry yard. A one-man show "Through the Fire and the Word: A Soldier's Monologue" was presented in the Hall of Military Glory. The guests were also shown the casting technology of the Early Iron Age and guided tours of the halls of the complex.
PNTZ organized a large-scale program "Turning the pages of memory", during which the guests learned about the feat of factory workers in the Great Patriotic War, Novotrubnik soldiers and home front workers. The museum staff conducted guided tours of the newly opened exhibition"One for all — A Great Victory!", presented both in the renovated space of the PNTZ Museum and Exhibition Center, and at the Memorial to the Fallen Novotrubnik Soldiers, as well as sightseeing tours of all five halls of the center. The guests were told about the origin of metallurgy in the Urals, the founding of Pervouralsk, the construction and development of the plant. The guests of the center took part in workshops dedicated to letters from the war years and work with historical photographs of the plant.
"One of TMK's strategic objectives is to develop the regions where the company operates, which includes cultural, historical and educational components. Industrial tourism is actively developing in the company's factories in order to promote the rich tangible heritage and intangible cultural artifacts. The "Night of Museums" campaign is one of its important components, designed to introduce the widest possible number of visitors to the history of industrial enterprises and cities," said Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's industrial tourism department.
"Night of Museums" is an international cultural and educational event during which museums and other cultural institutions are open until late at night or even at night. As part of the campaign, permanent and temporary exhibitions can be visited on preferential terms, and museums host the most diverse entertainment and educational programs. TMK is participating in the campaign for the seventh time.
