Light and communication underground: BCS cable laying from GCH Fartsoige at the Gaisky GOK
When arranging the infrastructure of underground mining operations, enterprises choose auxiliary equipment, focusing on its quality, functionality and safety for personnel. Thus, the Russian supplier of GCF Fartsoige replenished the fleet of equipment of the Gaysky Mining and Processing Plant (GOK) in the Urals with a BCS cable laying machine manufactured by the Titan plant (Turkey).
BCS is designed for the installation, dismantling and repair of cable, including fiber-optic lines that provide electricity and communications in difficult underground mine conditions. In addition, the technology helps with the installation of motion sensors and maintenance of lighting networks. The model was customized at the request of the customer, who previously used the Normet technique for similar work.
The equipment is equipped with a retractable cable drum mount, which allows for more accurate and faster cable laying and reduces the need for human involvement in hazardous processes. The equipment is equipped with a lifting mechanism with a basket for personnel, which can be used to carry out work in hard-to-reach areas, as well as to lay LED lighting strips on the roof. The capabilities of the cable laying machine can significantly increase the mobility and speed of maintenance of cable lines, which is an important requirement from underground mines with a rapid pace of development.
In operation, BCS has proven to be reliable and easy to manage equipment. During the entire period of use for the maintenance of the cable laying machine, the Fartsoige GCH service team carried out scheduled oil and filter changes directly on the territory of the Gaisky GOK.
