TMK shared its startup development practices with the participants of SPGF-2025
TMK informed the participants of the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum (SPGF-2025) about the principles of the company's work with external startups that are developing within the framework of TMK's Corporate Accelerator.
Ivan Bilan, Chief Technology Development and First Industrial Implementations Manager at STC TMK, spoke at the panel discussion "Technological Leadership in the gas industry: tools to ensure demand for applied research and development and motivate scientists to create and implement scientific results in demand by the industry"
He noted that the development of new unique solutions and the transition to a new technological order are necessary for the implementation of the Energy Strategy 2050, which provides for a significant increase in the number of hard-to-recover reserves, as well as the need to increase the oil recovery factor.
"Integrated approaches, like new knowledge, are born at the junction of competencies, for this the joint work of research centers of corporations and scientists who are engaged in the development of new technologies is important. To achieve this goal, TMK has created a corporate accelerator, operated by the TMK Research Center," Ivan Bilan said.
He noted that the Corporate Accelerator accepts projects for study all year round. "We work through them within our competent team, together with the author, we go from the initial assessment to testing the hypothesis on our testing base. Further, a fault-tolerant and refined solution adapted to production needs is being piloted at the enterprise, where it finds application both in the production process and in products used by partners in their industries," said Ivan Bilan.
According to him, after successful piloting, solutions can be scaled both within the company and with partners.
TMK's corporate accelerator was launched in 2021. As part of the project, young developers propose and implement cutting-edge ideas to solve the business problems of TMK's divisions. The accelerator's portfolio includes more than 1.3 thousand projects, 30% of which are ready for the first industrial implementation, and 30 solutions are already being implemented at TMK's production sites.
