MEGAPOLIS EXPO 2025 Urban Tour: How technology is shaping a modern city
On November 12, 2025, an Urban tour took place at the Crocus Expo IEC as part of the first joint project "MEGAPOLIS EXPO: technologies and Solutions for Modern Cities". The route brought together journalists, experts, and representatives of urban infrastructure, showing how manufacturers of engineering systems, building materials, and smart services are shaping the ecosystem of a modern metropolis, from elevators and ventilation to digital home management services.
The tour included two exhibitions: UtiliCon (housing, construction, architecture) and The AUTUMN Climate World, demonstrating how solutions from different industries are integrated into a single urban environment.
New generation elevators for a smart city
The first point of the route was the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant, one of the key Russian manufacturers of elevators since 1950. Today, the company is committed to technological independence and creates its own modern solutions for vertical transport.
High-speed passenger elevators with speeds of up to 4 m/s, innovative cabins with increased noise insulation, as well as an import-substituted gearless winch, which is energy efficient, were presented at the stand. Due to such solutions, elevators require less maintenance, do not require engine oil, and comply with modern environmental standards.
"We strive to integrate elevator equipment into the smart city ecosystem. Automatic evacuation systems in case of an accident, smart mirrors for online transmission of information, digital monitoring and remote control tools make vertical transport part of a unified urban digital environment. The plant annually updates thousands of pieces of equipment in Moscow, implements the Affordable Elevators program, cooperates with capital repair funds and forms an elevator cluster based on the Technopolis Moscow special economic zone," said Alexander Anatolyevich Gimadeev, Deputy General Director and Commercial Director of the Karacharovsky Mechanical Plant.
Digital transformation of apartment building management
The IT company "MY MEETING", specializing in automation of general meetings of owners, presented to the participants of the tour a service that allows them to organize OSS of all types — from preparing documents to uploading results to GIS housing and communal services, while strictly complying with the requirements of the law.
During the tour, the director of the company, Alexander Bormotov, noted that the culture of house management in Russia is just being formed. Residents often shift responsibility to management companies, and management organizations work under pressure from inspections and risks. As a result, decisions are made slowly.,
