TMK has released pipes for racing cars

Pervouralsky Novotrubny Plant (PNTZ), part of the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK), manufactured and supplied pipes for the Russian manufacturer of racing cars (sports prototypes), BR Engineering. PNTZ products are used in the chassis design of sports cars of the BR03 model.

By order of the domestic automaker, PNTZ produced 730 meters of seamless cold-formed pipes with a diameter of 40 mm and a wall thickness of 1.5 mm made of 30KHGSA steel grade, which is characterized by high strength and resistance to physical influences. At the customer's facility, PNTZ pipes undergo high-precision machining: they are laser-cut into the necessary segments, which are then welded into a complex chassis structure. It is on this frame that the engine, suspension and all other vital elements of the car are subsequently attached, ensuring its stability and maneuverability.

"Racing cars are manufactured in strict accordance with regulations, so we also place high demands on suppliers of the products from which we construct our sports prototypes. In particular, frame pipes should contain no more than 0.3% carbon, which affects the strength of the structure. They must also meet the specified geometric parameters and be without a single defect. PNTZ products fully meet our stringent requirements and ensure uncompromising pilot safety at high speeds and potential collisions on the highway," said Kirill Schrader, Chief Engineer of BR Engineering.

"TMK enterprises supply a wide range of products, from standard design solutions to individual and unique solutions for the customer's request. Extensive experience in the production of pipes of various grades and characteristics allows the company to participate in projects of any complexity. The successful cooperation with the Russian racing car manufacturer once again shows that the professionalism of TMK's specialists and the technological capabilities of its enterprises provide partners with confidence in the quality and effectiveness of our products," said Denis Vokhmyakov, TMK's Director of Industry and Regional Sales.

PNTZ has been manufacturing pipes for BR Engineering racing cars since 2023. Among other things, the company participates in the creation of experimental chassis designs for the production of the improved BR03 model. Its engine power is 470 hp, the car is capable of accelerating to 100 km /h in 3.5 seconds. and reach a maximum speed of 280 km/h. In 2023-2024, crews on the BR03 started in nine races, winning eight of them. Also, for two years in a row, pilots in a car of this model won the Russian Cup in endurance racing in the overall standings. TMK has released pipes for racing cars
