TMK's sustainability rating has reached its maximum level according to the NRA agency
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has risen to the highest position in the National Rating Agency's (NRA) sustainability rating, receiving a consolidated AAA.esg rating. The experts noted the maximum level of integration of the sustainable development agenda into the company's activities and the quality of compliance with relevant practices.
TMK's social policy, aimed at caring for employees and developing the regions of its presence, received the highest assessment from experts. Separately, measures to ensure occupational safety were noted, as well as a system for staff development and increasing the level of its involvement, which demonstrated results above the industry average. Among other things, the experts highlighted the effectiveness of TMK's efforts to develop industrial tourism at the company's enterprises.
Traditionally, TMK's corporate governance system has received the highest rating, and the implementation of the environmental direction of the sustainable development agenda has received the highest rating. The experts stressed the importance of approving the climate strategy until 2036, implementing energy efficiency projects at TMK plants, achieving a high share of recycled water supply — 96%, commissioning new equipment to minimize emissions and tree planting campaigns.
"TMK is aware of its responsibility for the well-being of its employees, contributes to improving the quality of life in the regions where it operates, as well as creating a healthy and open business environment. These goals are outlined in the corporate Strategy for Sustainable Development, which helps us systematize this large-scale activity. Upgrading the rating to the maximum level not only demonstrates the company's effectiveness, but also serves as a barometer of the involvement of employees and management in this process," said Sergey Chikalov, CEO of TMK.
The NRA rating is based on information from open sources and information provided by TMK. The NRA ESG rating is based on a rating model with a point system, which includes the final result in three grouped components (ecology/environment, social policy and corporate governance), as well as a summary assessment.
In December, TMK also took a high position in the ESG ranking of Russian companies, which is annually prepared by the NRA. The ranking is based on an analysis of the non-financial statements of 71 companies. TMK joined the 1st cluster (group of leaders) of the industrial sector, as it did last year. TMK's practices in the field of sustainable development are characterized as the best, especially significant progress in the implementation of the strategy in the field of sustainable development, including achievements in the field of environmental safety, is emphasized.,
