TMK shared its experience in preserving industrial heritage
The development of industrial tourism allows the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) to preserve and promote its industrial heritage, demonstrate technological achievements, support the regions of its presence and build a productive dialogue with the audience. Anna Trepalova, Head of TMK's industrial tourism department, told about this during the All-Russian Scientific and Practical conference "The Russian experience of industrialization in the historical perspective."
The event was held in Yekaterinburg and brought together leading historians, economists, government officials, industrial enterprises and the museum community from all over the country. As part of the public talk "Waste-free production: from Tyazhprom to factories of Meanings", Anna Trepalova presented the company's systematic experience of working with industrial heritage sites. She noted that they have not only historical, but also cultural value.
TMK pays special attention to the inventory and preservation of equipment that is being decommissioned during the modernization of production facilities. Machines and aggregates are considered as objects of cultural and historical heritage and regional identity, as well as promising elements of museums, public spaces and educational clusters.
"TMK demonstrates a systematic approach unique to Russia to the preservation of industrial heritage, which contributes to the development of museum spaces and the formation of sustained interest in industrial history. The record attendance at TMK's corporate museums in 2025 confirms the tangible and measurable results of our work in this area. We hope that our experience can become a guide for other companies and regions, since the preservation of the industrial heritage is a contribution to the preservation of the country's history," said Anna Trepalova.
