TMK demonstrated to scientists and students the process of developing and testing pipe products
Within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology, the Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) opened the doors of its Scientific and Technical Center (STC) in Moscow for scientists and students on the Day of Russian Science. About 100 people visited laboratories with high-precision equipment, examined test benches and got acquainted with the work of research scientists.
The first group of tourists was made up of participants of the meeting of the Coordinating Council for Youth Affairs in the Scientific and Educational spheres of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation on Science and Education, held that day at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology (Skoltech). They included experts and members of the Coordinating Council, young scientists and specialists from different regions of the country.
The second visit was organized as part of the "Science nearby" excursions. The guests of STC TMK were students of specialized specialties, teachers, researchers, as well as curators of the "Popular Science Tourism", "Solutions and services for the professional community" and "Science and Business" Decades of Science and Technology.
"The creation of high-tech and high-tech products is the key to maintaining a leading position in the modern market. TMK is making significant efforts to develop applied science, introduce advanced developments into production, and create conditions for realizing the potential of scientists and researchers, as well as popularize science among young people," said Igor Pyshmintsev, TMK's Director of Scientific Work, CEO of STC TMK.
STC TMK is a key research platform for the Russian pipe industry. A unique set of equipment allows us to develop new materials, study their microstructure, create prototypes of pipe products and test them according to international standards on test benches that recreate real operating conditions. The center conducts about 500 R&D projects.
TMK participates in the Decade of Science and Technology program within the framework of a trilateral agreement signed between the company, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation and ANO National Priorities in November 2025. The aim of the cooperation is to promote the industrial implementation of the developments of young scientists and attract talented young people to the field of testing and research. The basis for the events under the agreement is TMK's corporate accelerator of technology projects, a program to support promising startups.
