TMK evaluates the best ecotech startups for production
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) participated in the GreenTech Sustainable Development 2025-2026 program to search, select and pilot innovative projects created at the request of manufacturing companies. The final selection was held at the TMK Scientific and Technical Center (STC TMK) in Moscow, representatives of the company were included in the program experts, and the best initiatives with practical confirmation of effectiveness will be implemented at TMK production sites.
11 projects were defended in the environmental block. New wastewater treatment technologies have become one of the main directions of the presented developments. In particular, an automatic discharge control system was presented, which continuously monitors the concentration of pollutants during wastewater treatment and, as it increases, allows for operational reagent adjustment.
The authors of another project have developed a mobile installation with the technology of ozonation and ultrafiltration of wastewater, which purifies them to the water quality standards of fisheries facilities. Another finalist, a designer and supplier of water treatment equipment, has already conducted a survey of water supply systems at one of TMK's enterprises and proposed options for completing make-up water treatment equipment for the recycling cycle.
"TMK strives to minimize the environmental impact, constantly modernizes existing technologies, develops and selects new environmental policies in the field of waste management, protection of atmospheric air, soils, and water resources. Thus, the Seversky Pipe Plant provided its site for testing the GreenTech participant project, the authors of which analyzed and provided recommendations for improving the company's wastewater treatment system. We actively support innovative initiatives in the environmental field and are focused on productive cooperation with developers of the most effective solutions," said Marianna Klimova, Head of the Ecology and Climate Service, Chief Ecologist at TMK.
The GreenTech Sustainable Development program is being implemented for the sixth time and includes, in addition to the Ecology block, the Production Infrastructure Management, Industrial Safety, Resource Conservation and Resource Efficiency, and Biotechnology. This year, 22 projects have won in various areas. During the operation of the program, more than 100 projects were implemented, more than 400 were accelerated, including with the help of TMK experts. TMK experts also review more than 300 innovative projects annually as part of the GreenTech program, and STC TMK traditionally hosts the final of the program at its technology site.
