Interpipe has developed a new wheelset design for a railroad car builder in Northern Europe
The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has supplied ULT35 wheelsets for the first time. The products are used for the construction of heavy-duty wagons, and the final consumer will be a steel mill in northern Sweden.
The ULT35 wheelset from the ULTIMATE's own line was developed by Interpipe's R&D specialists specifically for wagons designed for heavy transportation. The new product can withstand a maximum axle load of up to 35 tons, which is significantly higher than the more usual 20-25 tons for the cargo segment.
Wagons with an axle load of 35 tons are used in a limited number of countries for specialized purposes, because the increased weight requires an enhanced railway infrastructure. In addition, significantly higher requirements are placed on wheels and axles in terms of strength and wear resistance.

- This design will become a new standard for our permanent partner, a Swedish car builder specializing in heavy wagons. The wheelset is designed specifically for 35 tons, but the design allows it to be used for wagons with a lower load. Thus, we were able to extend the service life of the wheels and potentially reduce the necessary stock of wheels and wheel sets for the repair of wagons for the customer.
