Gazprom has connected an asphalt plant in Udmurtia to the gas supply
Gazprom Gas Distribution Izhevsk specialists have connected a new asphalt plant in the village of Malaya Purga to the gas supply networks. A gas pipeline was built for the company, a gas reduction point was installed and gas burners were installed, the company's press service reported.
The plant will produce more than 50,000 tons of asphalt per month. The products will be used for the construction of the federal highway in Udmurtia and the road to Izhevsk airport, explained Alexander Cherkashin, General Director of Gazprom Gas Distribution Izhevsk and Gazprom Mezhregiongaz Izhevsk LLC. According to him, the use of mains gas in the technological cycle will allow the company to optimize production costs.
Roman Yefimov, Prime Minister of Udmurtia, clarified that the plant belongs to a contractor company that is reconstructing the Izhevsk–Airport road. The contractor plans to deliver two more mobile installations necessary for road works to the site, Yefimov added.
In the summer of 2025, Udmurtia held a competition for the reconstruction of the Izhevsk–Airport highway. The Kazan company Stroy-Engineering LLC won. A section of the road with a length of more than 3.1 km will be expanded from two to four lanes. They will also build a new bridge over the Posim River and an overpass over the railway tracks. The total cost of the work is 4.9 billion rubles, and it is planned to be completed in 2027.
