TMK and RAS will jointly develop science and introduce innovations in industry

The Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) and the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) have signed an agreement on scientific and technical cooperation in order to develop fundamental and applied science. The parties will support research in metallurgy, materials science, pipe production, mechanical engineering and other fields, as well as the introduction of innovative developments in industry.

The signing ceremony took place in the building of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The document was signed by Sergey Chikalov, CEO of TMK, and Gennady Krasnikov, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The agreement will contribute to the expansion of the country's scientific and technological potential and the sustainable development of the Russian economy on a new technological basis. Its purpose is to help strengthen ties between science and business, support the creation of new high—tech products, accelerate the introduction of innovations in industrial production and create conditions for launching new scientific developments on the market, as well as strengthen cooperation between the parties in information, analytical, expert and other fields.

The interaction will be coordinated by a permanent collegial body – the Joint Scientific and Technical Council (JTS) of the TMK Research Center (CI) and the Department of Chemistry and Materials Sciences (OHNM) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The NTS is designed to consider issues and make decisions on the formation of a strategy for the development of materials science and the application of scientific knowledge in the development of new types of products in industrial enterprises. The NTS will be co-chaired by Igor Pyshmintsev, Director of Scientific Work at TMK, and Konstantin Grigorovich, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Head of the Laboratory at the A.

"The driver of economic development is advanced technology. TMK has created a powerful scientific and technical base for their development, which provides a full innovation cycle – from the concept to the implementation of solutions in production. In this work, we actively cooperate with universities and scientific institutions, since it is at the junction of competencies that unique technological projects arise. The agreement with the Russian Academy of Sciences will allow us to reach a new level of cooperation in order to jointly offer the products in demand to the market as soon as possible," said Sergey Chikalov.

"Academic science has traditionally been the author of advanced ideas and concepts that set the vector of technological development. At the same time, the value of fundamental research
