TMK presented its experience of interaction with technology developers at INNOPROM
Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) has secured its technological leadership through its work with scientific and educational institutions, as well as industrial partners and developers of high-tech solutions. This was announced by Igor Pyshmintsev, TMK's Director of Scientific Work, at the INNOPROM-2026 International Industrial Exhibition.
At the session "Unified Code of Technological Leadership: Synchronization of science, industry and youth technical representatives", he noted that in the 25 years since its foundation, TMK, which has united a number of large pipe enterprises, has become the most modern and advanced company in the industry, creating unique domestic products at the request of consumers.
"This large-scale work is based on the introduction of the best technologies in cooperation with science in its broad sense. We work with fundamental science, institutes and institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, as well as with universities, especially in the regions of our presence, with which we have established cooperation on the development of innovations and the training of qualified personnel," said Igor Pyshmintsev.
Among the partner universities, he named, in particular, the Ural Federal University named after B.
N. Yeltsin in Yekaterinburg, Volgograd State Technical University, South Ural and Chelyabinsk State Universities, with which systematic scientific and educational cooperation has been established. At the same time, the company believes that the success of the university largely depends on the involvement of its teaching staff in practical work in cooperation with business. "That's why we joined the program of the Ural Advanced Engineering School several years ago, the results have already been obtained, progress is noticeable, this work will continue," Igor Pyshmintsev said.
The company has also been implementing scientific and technical cooperation programs with large consumers with their own scientific base for many years. Another level of cooperation is cooperation with startups.
"TMK has created an accelerator that collects ideas and proposals, reviews them, selects the most feasible ones and provides an opportunity to conduct pilot testing at our enterprises. We have a number of partners in this area, including the Moscow Innovation Cluster. We are open for cooperation, we will develop it, come with your ideas," Igor Pyshmintsev said.
He stressed that different models of cooperation are used in joint developments. "The interaction scheme depends on the level of technological readiness of a particular development. If this is an entry level, we are ready to act as a qualified customer. If it is higher, we carry out research and development work.
