Ukrainian steel producer ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih reported that two people were killed and 13 employees and contractors were injured as a result of rocket fire at his company at night. The attack also damaged the plant's main energy facilities and blast furnaces. The company said that search and rescue operations were continuing after the attack and that an emergency response plan had been put in place. Firefighters, occupational safety specialists, rescue teams and medical workers continued their work at the scene. The company reported that the victims are being treated at medical institutions in the city. In her initial statement, she said that one person had been killed. An update released at 10:16 a.m. confirmed that another person had died, bringing the death toll from the attack to two. The attack also affected the factory's production activities. Arcelormittal Kryvyi Rih reported that it had received a report of damage to the plant's main energy facilities and blast furnace production, which led to a partial suspension of production . . Relevant experts are assessing the extent of the damage, as well as the possibilities and timing of resuming work. The company condemned the attack, stressing that the facility is a civilian facility operating in the mining and metallurgical sector. Arcelormittal Kryvyi Rih also recalled that in 2022 the plant was subjected to rocket fire, as a result of which the rolling mill workshop was destroyed and one employee was killed.
