CEO of Blastr Green Steel resigns

As it became known to Callanish, the chief executive officer of Blastr Green Steel (BGS) Mark Bula is going to leave the company. ,

A published statement from the company says that Bula and Blaster "have reached an agreement regarding his departure" from the company. Bula was appointed CEO in April 2024.

"Mark played a key role in making Blastr what it is today, and the board would like to thank him for his contribution," says Olaf Wigstall, Chairman of the Management Board. Representative

A Blastr Green Steel informed Kallanish: "We can confirm that BGS CEO Mark Bula is leaving his post, which will allow for an orderly transition period. The current Chief Financial Officer, David Morant, will become CEO of BGS UK."

They add that Morant is an experienced executive with more than 20 years of experience in capital markets and has held senior positions in companies involved in the industrial economy in the UK and around the world.

The statement adds that the board of directors and the management team remain fully committed to the continued development of Blastr companies and to maintaining strong relationships with their partners, suppliers and employees.

"All existing business operations and obligations are continuing as usual," the conclusion says.

A final investment decision (FID) has not yet been made on the low-carbon project, but permits were announced in March 2025.

Blastr is believed to still be in the process of acquiring Speciality Steel UK (SSUK), and negotiations with the Insolvency Service are still ongoing as the preferred bidder.

Sources familiar with the situation claim that Morant was actively involved in negotiations on a possible takeover of SSUK.
