Metalloinvest took part in the Franco-Russian workshop on sustainable development and "green" financing


Company metalloinvest took part in the Franco - Russian seminar on "Green Finance" which was held at the residence of the French Ambassador Sylvie Berman in Moscow.


Also participated in the seminar were invited representatives of leading Russian and French banks and companies – ALROSA, Gazprom, Norilsk Nickel, Polymetal, Rosatom, RUSAL, Russian Railways, SIBUR, Air Liquide, EDF, Engie, Total, Natixis, Societe Generale, Sberbank, Alfa-Bank, Gazprombank, VTB, VEB and other representatives of the CBR, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of economic development, Ministry of environment, the FUND, the Moscow exchange, the Bank of France, Ministry of ecology, Ministry of economy and Finance of France, MEDEF, other organizations and agencies were also invited to the event.
during the seminar were discussed the French experience in the implementation of sustainable development practices in industry and the financial sector, and the prospects of the development of green Finance in Russia.


"Sustainable development – the basis of the business strategy of metalloinvest, commented Alexey Voronov, the Director of Finance of the Company. – Systematic activity in this field has enabled us to make significant progress in working with new to market financial instruments. This year, the company became the first private company in Russia, concluded the credit agreement, the interest rate which depends on the rating of corporate social responsibility of the Company. Further steps in this direction involve, in particular, the binding of price parameters of a new pre-export loan of 200 million euros to the sustainable development indicators. Also consider the possibility of receiving new ESG ratings and further structuring of "green" financial instruments".

Metalloinvest has entered in 11% of the world's best manufacturers and metalloresurs steel, having a rating EcoVadis (over 900 companies). The company also entered into a 7% best manufacturers in the world metalloresurs and became the criterion to characterize the degree of impact on the environment.
