Andrey Varichev took part in a meeting of the heads of the Russian Federation and Turkey with business representatives
Andrey Varichev, CEO of Metalloinvest Management Company, took part in a meeting between President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan with leading representatives of Russian and Turkish business circles.
In his speech, Andrei Varichev stressed the particular importance of developing cooperation in the context of instability in the global market. On behalf of the Russian Steel Association, the CEO of Metalloinvest thanked the Turkish colleagues for the constructive dialogue in the framework of the protective investigation carried out by Turkey in relation to metal products.
The CEO of Metalloinvest also suggested considering the possibility of a systematic solution to the issue of removing mutual barriers. One of the most effective instruments is a preferential trade agreement between countries. It will allow not only to develop mechanisms for the liberalization of trade, but will also contribute to the growth of mutual trade.
The Republic of Turkey is one of the key partners of the Russian Federation in the metallurgical industry. The ties between the countries are of a historical nature - Russia traditionally occupies about 40% of Turkish imports of metallurgical products and is the largest supplier. Turkish household appliances, electrical equipment, pipes and other goods are produced from Russian metal, which are also exported, confirming the high competitiveness of cooperation between the two countries.
