BMK supplied new ropes in polymer to the CIS countries and the European Union
BMK shipped for export ropes with diameters from 11 to 57 mm. They are intended for completing excavators, cranes and towing devices, as well as for the manufacture of slings.
Coated ropes have improved performance. Plastic can be applied both to the strands and the core and to the rope as a whole. It protects steel cables from external and internal abrasion, protecting them from abrasive action of rock particles and friction in mechanisms, reduces the effect of dynamic loads and contact stresses, and ensures longer operation of both the product itself and expensive equipment parts.
The production of these promising products began at BMK in 2019 after the commissioning of new modern European equipment.
“Initially, the project for the production of plastic-coated ropes was aimed at import substitution of similar products on the Russian market. However, there is great interest in it from foreign buyers due to its competitive price. We sent the first batches of our new product to the mining enterprises of the Mechel Group, where they confirmed their durability and wear resistance. Now we are expanding the geography of supplies, offering foreign consumers our promising product ", - commented Director General of JSC BMK Viktor Kamelin.
