JSC "Uralelectromed" is preparing a "pillow" for the third stage of the copper electrolysis workshop
Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region)
In the third stage of the copper electrolysis shop under construction at Uralelectromed JSC (an enterprise of the UMMC metallurgical complex), concrete work has begun on the construction of the main foundation of the shop. At present, the foundation is being poured with a thickness of 1600 mm at the construction site. The builders of the Uralmetallurgmontazh-2 contractor have already filled 40% of the concrete cushion.
According to Stanislav Manin, the chief specialist for the reconstruction of the workshop, concrete glasses will be installed on this basis - the foundations of the columns of the workshop building. In the near future, the general contractor will begin manufacturing reinforced concrete columns required for the construction of the frame. The entire complex of works on the construction of foundations is planned to be completed in June 2020.
The Uralmekhanobr Design Institute is designing technological equipment, ventilation systems and ventilation ducts, which will be used in the third stage.
Note that the third stage will also operate on a baseless technology using stainless steel cathodes. The new facility will house one circulation system, consisting of 224 electrolysis baths with associated technological equipment (tanks, pumps, heat exchangers). The project also provides for the installation of two automated lines - an anode preparation machine and an anode scrap washing machine.
Recall that in February 2012, Uralelectromed JSC put into operation the first stage of a modern workshop with a capacity of 160 thousand tons of cathode copper in year. In May 2018, the second stage was launched with a similar capacity. The new production facility, which is scheduled to be completed in 2022, will allow the enterprise to produce a total of up to 400,000 tonnes of copper cathodes per year.
