Severstal and the Tretyakov Gallery open new creative workshops
PJSC Severstal supported the creation of New creative workshops of the State Tretyakov Gallery for adults and children in a building on Krymskiy Val. Four workshops - painting, graphics, multimedia, sculptures of their art object - will be located on two floors of the new space.
A distinctive feature of the Workshops is the emphasis on modern art practices and the development of the creative potential of each participant. The focus is on mastering the main languages and techniques of contemporary art, overcoming stereotypes and free experiments outside the strict stylistic framework. A significant role in the programs of the Workshops is assigned to work with a permanent collection of works of the XX - early XXI century and materials from temporary exhibitions of the latest art.
The first Creative Workshop on Krymsky Val was opened in 2002. However, the small size of the Workshop did not allow to develop a larger-scale activity, to accept everyone and make programs more diverse. This is how the idea of "New creative workshops" arose. Based on many years of experience, specialists of the Tretyakov Gallery, together with architects, have developed a design project that made it possible to create a functional and stylish space in the difficult situation of a rigidly defined and limited space.
“It is a great honor for Severstal to be a long-term partner and trustee of the Tretyakov Gallery and a special joy, that the funds allocated by the company made it possible to transform the children's workshop, which has been supported for ten years, into such a large-scale creative space for a wide audience, "said Natalya Poppel, Head of CSR and Brand Department of Severstal.
The total area of the New Workshops is about 700 m2 ... Several bright, specially equipped rooms are designed for drawing and painting, working with clay and other materials. The equipment of each workshop takes into account the specifics of various art materials and the peculiarities of creative tasks.
In June and July 2019, 17-year creative programs for adults and children will be held in the new educational space. Classes on copyright programs will be conducted by museum teachers of the gallery and invited artists.
A new educational season will begin in the fall - annual, semi-annual and short-term cycles of artistic and practical classes will start for lovers of contemporary art, adults and children, beginners and students of specialized institutions.
