Gaysky GOK launched a new press filter
Gai (Orenburg Region)
At the enrichment plant of PJSC Gaysky GOK (an enterprise of the UMMC raw materials complex), an Outotec LAROX PF 120 | 144 press filter (Finland) was put into operation in commissioning mode. drying copper and zinc concentrates. "The introduction of another press filter in the technological process will allow not only filtering the required amount of concentrate, but also removing existing filters for repair or revision without loss of productivity," says Dmitry Semenov, head of the concentrator. “At present, the equipment is operating in commissioning mode - at first it was launched on the water, and now we are trying to produce concentrate.” Note that the new equipment is very familiar to the concentrators - two similar LAROX press filters have been operating at the factory for more than ten years. According to experts, these filters are distinguished by low operating costs, obtaining a dry homogeneous cake, and a small installation area. And most importantly - high efficiency, the ability to obtain constant results in various technological conditions and at the same time ease of maintenance. The commissioning of a new unit gives a number of important advantages: along with an increase in the quality characteristics of ore processing, the Finnish LAROX press filter will completely remove from the technology drying of concentrates using natural gas, a drying drum and two chimneys, thereby eliminating the emission of combustion products into the atmosphere, which were formed during drying in a drying drum. The change in the concentrate drying technology will also make it possible to dismantle several units of energy-intensive auxiliary equipment, to reduce the water consumption required for the drying drum operation. The press filter operates in automatic mode using a control unit containing programmable logic devices, indicator lamps for all operations. All safety measures are provided for the operation of the equipment. For example, the sensor system will stop the equipment if the doors or press filter valves are opened. It takes only 10-15 minutes from the supply of a suspension of copper or zinc concentrate through the high-pressure distribution pipelines to the sealed filter chambers, to the exit of the concentrate from them with a moisture content of 7-8 percent. During this time, the press filter produces up to 15 tons of dry copper or zinc concentrate. According to Dmitry Semenov, the productivity of LAROX press filters is calculated taking into account the fact that in the future the Gaysky GOK will increase the annual ore processing from the current 9.5 million tons to 10. Note that the installation and assembly of filtering equipment was carried out without interrupting the existing production.
