A new Ice Arena opened in the Orenburg city of Gai
Gai (Orenburg region) PJSC "Gaysky GOK" (an enterprise of the raw materials complex of UMMC) in the city of Gai, at the expense of UMMC, completed the construction of an ice arena for practicing hockey and conducting mass skating sessions. The ice arena received the "copper" name - Cuprum. The commissioning of the facilities became possible thanks to the cooperation agreement between the Government of the Orenburg Region and the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company. UMMC's investments in the construction of a new sports facility amounted to about 490 million rubles.

One hundred and fifty children have already signed up for the hockey section, and this is just a few days. The Governor thanked UMMC and its General Director Andrey Anatolyevich Kozitsyn, Gaysky GOK and all construction participants for the implementation of the project. The Director of the Gaysky GOK handed over the symbolic key to the new sports facility to the Head of the city district - UMMC is one of the few Companies in Russia with a pronounced social orientation, - noted Gennady Stavsky. - Together, within the framework of socio-economic partnership with the Company and the region, we are implementing all our plans set six years ago - we are improving the surrounding social environment, improving the district. So that people want to live in our city, raise children here, work in our enterprise. We will try to create such conditions for the residents of the district.
The ice of the new arena was the first to be mastered by the players of the Gornyak combined team and a children's hockey section. For them, the appearance of an ice arena is of particular importance - now there is an opportunity to train indoors regardless of weather conditions and extend the sports season by several months. Gaysky GOK purchased 16 sets of adult sports equipment and 34 children's sets for future hockey players. The guests of honor also toured the city park, where the second stage of improvement is being completed within the framework of the project "Formation of a comfortable urban environment" and took part in the ceremony of awarding the best leaders of the Gaysky GOK in honor of professional holiday of Miner's Day.
Recall that the construction of the ice arena Gaysky GOK started in November 2019. A new building measuring 49x78 meters was erected in the city park next to the Sports and Recreation Complex, which was opened in August last year. The sports complex and the ice arena are connected by a warm passage. There are 8 entrance groups in the building of the ice arena. There is a gym, a warm locker room, administrative premises and, of course, the ice arena itself. The area of ice cover is 2424 m 2 , and the stands can accommodate 150 people. The total area of the building is 8449.27m 2 .
For ice "Cuprum- Arenas ”Gaysky GOK purchased an ENGO Ice Wolf PRO. This high-tech electric special equipment with an extended basic configuration is designed for the processing of artificial ice surfaces in ice sports facilities. It meets the requirements of international professional ice arenas. With its help, the ice arena with an area of 1,700 square meters will be maintained in working order. Ice harvester ENGO Ice Wolf PRO is equipped with all the necessary technological and innovative devices. Control is carried out with a joystick, all the necessary information about the operation of the machine is displayed on a large touchscreen color display 10.4 inches high resolution.
