Severstal held a presentation of a drying complex at Yakovlevsky GOK
At the Yakovlevsky GOK (part of PJSC Severstal), a presentation of the largest investment project in the history of the plant - the drying complex was held.
Evgeny Vinogradov, General Director of the Severstal Russian Steel Division and the company's resource assets.
“Launching the drying complex is a strategically important step for Yakovlevsky GOK. This is the largest investment project in the history of the enterprise, its cost is about 3 billion rubles. The new facility will reduce the moisture content of ore from 8% to 2%, which will exclude freezing of products in the cold season when sent to consumers in the northern regions. Through the operation of new equipment, we plan to increase the supply of raw materials in winter, which is an important stage for the enterprise to reach an ore output of 5 million tons by 2023. The drying facilities are made of metal from Severstal. The metal structures for the project were supplied by Severstal Steel Solutions, - commented Alexander Shevelev, General Director of Severstal.
A powerful filtration system is installed at the drying complex. Waste gases are cleaned in cyclones and bag filters, then enter the smoke exhauster and pipe. The remaining ore, sent to the filtration system, is returned to production again. The indicators will comply with environmental standards.
“Two years ago, an agreement was signed between the Government of the Belgorod Region and Severstal on economic and social cooperation. I note with great satisfaction that all points of the document are being successfully implemented. And the launch of this unique drying project is a vivid evidence of this. I am very glad that Yakovlevsky GOK is a driver of economic development not only in the Yakovlevsky urban district, but also in the Belgorod region as a whole. It is a growing company. Production has more than doubled and we see very good prospects. There is a dynamic in the number of jobs, which have doubled. Wages are increasing - it has already exceeded 50 thousand rubles, "- said the governor of the Belgorod region Yevgeny Savchenko.
This year it is also planned to complete the construction of a loading and warehouse complex. A warehouse will be built for the dried ore, two conveyor galleries and corps for loading into railway wagons. This will make the process of transporting and loading ore completely closed - without the use of transport.
