Non-ferrous metal alloy production released record amount of lead
The branch “Production of non-ferrous metal alloys” (PSTSM) of JSC “Uralelectromed” (an enterprise of the metallurgical complex of UMMC) produced in August a record amount of branded lead - 2123.7 tons. This tonnage is the highest monthly indicator since the start of the lead production.
According to the director of PSCM Tagir Khafizov, the record figure was achieved due to the implementation of a program for the long-term development of production, which helped to increase the capacity of the metallurgical shop of the branch. And also due to the employees' own innovative developments, contributing to an increase in labor productivity and safety of equipment operation.
Thus, in the metallurgical shop last year, two new refining furnaces No. 7 and 8 were installed. The capacity of the furnace boilers is 180 tons. each, which is 20% more than the six existing ones. The boilers are at the beginning of the cycle and carry out the refining of blister lead from copper.
Let us remind you that the branch "Production of non-ferrous metal alloys" specializes in the production of pure lead, cuprous and bismuth. Also in the process of lead production, antimony slags are formed, which serve as raw materials for the production of branded antimony at the site of the main site of JSC Uralelectromed.
